So guys here in this post we will discuss the i5 and i7 processor (for laptop and desktop both) that how much they are capable for good level of video editing and can we edit 4K videos with the help of these processors ? So if you want to know all the answers read this post carefully.
Hello guys, today we talk about video editing and guys for video editing we need a good machine that handle a lot of process and tasks very easily, and I know there are a lot of actors who are not using computers and PC because they travel from here there for that they need a good laptop for their productivity and most of the people are buying a good laptop for their daily use and most of the creator also buys a good laptop for video editing purpose as so in this post we will discuss how much level we can edit videos these laptops that are available in the market and are having a flexible level processor, so guys the processor is the main thing that we considered in video editing because 70% to 75% of the work can be done by the processor in productivity. So if you are buying a laptop for editing purpose you need to check the processor of the laptop that you are buying, and you have to also think about that this is enough for you or not and for the beginner creators I will recommend that for budget video editing you need at least i5 generation laptop but if you want to medium to high level video editing then you have to need i7 generation laptops, and you can also to go for Ryzen processor but in this post we will know about how much i7 laptop processor can edit videos.
Is processor is the only thing we consider for video editing ?
The straight forward answer is no, but it is very important, and it plays a very important role in video editing, previously I already told about that 70 to 75% of the processes can be done by the processor but for good level video editing we need also a GPU for best performance Although we need a 3gb to 4gb of GPU for 4K video editing and the most important thing is Ram because it is also a very important it for video editing and for 4K video editing you need 16 GB to 32 GB of RAM for smoothness video rendering and editing, so you have to consider the first thing that is the Processor second one is the Ram and third one is the GPU, three things compulsory for good level of video editing, although you need a good display, but we only want to see the performance in video editing.
Is Intel i5 and i7 processors are good for 4k editing in laptops ?
Already we know that the processor plays a very important role in video editing but when we're going into the deep we know that the desktop processor and laptop processors or mobile processors are having huge difference between them, so we left out that desktop processors we only talk about the laptop processor which come in the laptops so that the good level of video editing it depends on the processor and its cores, greater numbers of cores give us the best performance and fast rendering in the video editing, so you must need to know about how much the cores having that processor you have chosen.
When we talk about the i5 laptop processor it has four cores, and minimum 6th generation or newer, this is designed for a good level of video editing but if you have a good SSD and good GPU and minimum of 8 GB of Ram then you can edit full HD videos very smoothly in your laptop, and you can also edit 4K videos in a laptop but not so smooth , it may lag at some points and for full HD video editing the i5 processor is best and decent for video editing, and you can edit a lot of full HD videos without any lag in your laptop, but I suggest you to that your laptop must be plugged in to the power source.
Now here we come to talk about the i7 laptop processor (minimum 6th generation or newer), mainly this time the i7-9750h that is 9th generation CPU is in trend and this is a very good level of processor which comes in gaming laptops. If you have a laptop having this processor and having SSD and minimum of 4 GB of GPU and minimum of 16 GB of RAM than you can edit 4K videos on your laptop very smoothly without any lag. I have a laptop that is Asus VivoBook Gaming, and it is having i7 9th generation CPU and 16 GB of RAM with 4GB Nvidia GTX 1650 graphic card with 512 GB of SSD and during editing 4K videos in premiere Pro there is no any lag I have seen and when laptop is in power source it gives the best performance while editing the videos. But on battery it may lag at some time, but I will suggest you that for 4K and high-level editing you must connect your laptop to the power source.
Some Extra Tips For You:-
- The i7 6th generation or newer processor are good for high level of video editing, and you can edit 4K videos on your laptop very smoothly.
- I suggest you to go with the greater number of cores in the processor for the best level of rendering and editing.
- For video editing in a laptop I suggest you to connect your laptop in the power source because it keeps you the best performance in your laptop when you connect your laptop in the power source your processor goes to the highest frequency automatically (that is turboboost frequency).
So guys in this post you know that how much an intel i5 and i7 laptop processors can handle video editing, and you got that which are the things that you can check before buying a new laptop for productivity or video editing.
